I discovered photography when I was on a middle school trip to Germany. I was so struck by both the spectacular, and sometimes quiet details around me, I wanted to capture those moments.
I bought my first camera while I was there, and thus began my life as a photographer. I got a job with a newspaper out of college. It was a great opportunity to shoot all types of subjects, and to hone my skills with people. I really enjoyed the daily adventures of newspaper photography and the opportunity to see the world.
I started getting more calls for work outside of the newspaper, and my career transitioned into the world of commercial and editorial photography. Through the phases of my career, I have tried to stay true to my vision by capturing interesting moments in a way that is sensitive toward my subject. I hope that through my work people get a glimpse of what I see in the world – moments that are simple and everyday, yet extraordinary and beautiful.
